Arts and crafts weekend – and business-savvy artists
This past weekend two of my friends wanted to go to an arts and crafts festival.
And I decided I needed to take a break from working so I went along.
We all got in the car. An hour later we were there.
Walking around and admiring beautiful ceramic pottery; hand painted scarves.
And, my favorites, beautiful paintings of nature scenes.
Business-savvy artists
We met with some of the artists. And listen to them talk about their work.
Some impressive talents!
At one place, they were selling wood plaques engraved with different messages:
some full of wisdom, some really funny.
My friends and I spent lots of time there.
Calling each other’s attention to one message or another.
After a while, the artist, came toward us. Gave all three of us business cards and said,
“I’m happy you like my work so much.
With holidays coming soon, these would make great gifts for your family and friends.”
Business-savvy artist. Giving us ideas of “how” those products could be used.
And not just then, but at a later date in the future.
All this walking around made us hungry. So we started toward the food vendors.
Basque food, wine, ice cream, popcorn. I think we got all the food groups.
Bluegrass music
We sat down for few minutes to listen to the band playing.
The song was about computers and messages. How someone clicked send then regret it.
But couldn’t “unsend-it”. And how the message was now “forever” in cyberspace.
Hmm, this must be our generation bluegrass music : )
Arts and crafts weekend outing – not something I usually do.
It was fun.
