Give yourself the gift of laughter

I was on the phone talking with a friend.

We were talking about addiction.
I said, “You and I should go to “detox”. There should be a Chocolate Anonymous group for us to join.”
That ignited a roaring laughter from my friend.

It was good to hear her laugh.
(Her chronic back pain is not conducive to many bouts of laughter.)

Laughter is contagious
And good for us. It makes us happy. We feel more alive. It brings us together.
Laughter is contagious. And the brain responds well to sounds of laughter.

It’s good to see the humor in different life situations we find ourselves in.
Even laugh at our mistakes.

Sharing laughter helps us to better connect with others.
And to feel more optimistic about life in general.

Studies that recorded the frequency of laughter show:
• Toddlers laugh approximately 100 times a day.
• Middle-age adults laugh four times a day.

As adults, we laugh only four times a day?!
Given all the benefits, obviously we need more laughter in our lives!
So write your own “prescription” for happiness:
Give yourself the gift of laughter!

Smile more : )

Learn from the little ones: look at life with more wonder, more humor.
As you work to make your life a successful and happy one – remember to
laugh more often.

“Success is the sum of small
efforts, repeated day in and
day out.”
Robert Collier
