If you have built castles in the air – Henry David Thoreau
Last week I was at an out-of-town conference.
During this annual meeting, panel members from different regions of the state discuss
issues and share ideas on how to make our communities safer for children.
A remarkable success story
A woman in her early twenty’s, spoke of her difficult childhood.
Her love of books and education.
And how that helped her to “come out of darkness.” She looked around the room and
told us how much difference people like us have made in her life.
She spoke of her dream of being a judge someday. And wanting to help others as much
as she was helped.
Of course it was gratifying to hear our time and effort make a difference.
Hearing her speak with such confidence about her dreams, about where she wanted
to go with her life – THAT was inspiring!
Hope this inspires you to dream . Then to put the foundation under it.
(aka start working on achieving them.)
If one advances confidently
in the direction of his dreamsand endeavors
to live the life
which he has imagined,he will meet with a success.
If you have built castles in the air,
your work need not be lost. That is where they should be.
Now put the foundations under them.
