Marius vs Danny

Marius and Danny – two beautiful names.
That’s what you and I think.
Young Marius, however, thinks differently.
For him one name is much better than the other.

I was in the store when I noticed the threesome: two young boys and their grandmother.
All three in the toy section with grandma doing what grandmas do so well – spoil their grandchildren by getting them lots of toys.
That’s when I overheard the conversation: the young boys were talking about a friend of theirs from school.
One boy to another, “His name is Marius but he is embarrassed by it. And he wants to be called Danny.”

On my way home I was wondering:
If I would have a chance to speak with Marius’ parents, what would I say?
What would you say?

Raise a confident child
Ask parents what they want for their children.
The answer, “I want my child to reach his full potential and lead a happy life.”
They may use different words but they ultimately want the same thing.
That’s any parent’s dream.

As I wrote in this post, our first lesson in life starts at home.
Our parents and extended family help build the foundation of who we are.

As parent, start by building your child’s confidence – it’s key to having the best start in life.
To becoming a well-adjusted, productive and successful adult.
