Money Matters
It’s contagious!
Tax talks from Europe (Apple’s $14.5 billion tax bill) caught on here now.
Now our own politicians speak (loud and clear) about how they are going to, “rip up the corporate tax avoidance” laws.
Our lawmakers want to reform the tax code and put an end to an era of tax-deferral laws that enable U.S corporations to hold profits off shores tax-free.
Joining the chorus both our presidential candidates promise to find ways and convince major, multinational companies to bring home some of the money they keep stashed in off shore tax havens.
Over $2 trillion
What exactly makes so many politicians behave so “enthusiastically”?
At least two reasons we can think of.
One is money. Lots of them.
There are over $2 trillion of untaxed revenue that U.S. corporations keep in Europe and elsewhere.
The other reason: let’s not forget (how can we?!) it’s an election year.
Thanks for visiting.
