The Smoke that Thunders
“Mosi-oa-Tunya” means “The Smoke that Thunders”.
That’s how locals describe Victoria Falls.
Just over a mile wide (1,700m), the great waterfall is an incredible sight on Zambezi River.
Victoria Falls is made up of five different waterfalls:
Main Falls, Devil’s Cataract, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, and the Eastern Cataract.
The Eastern Cataract Fall is in Zambia; the other four are in Zimbabwe.
I was awe-struck when I came across this photo of the Rainbow Falls.
And I wanted to share its beauty with you.
This armchair traveling to Southern Africa was made possible by a friend who recently visited
Victoria Falls and took that beautiful photo of the Rainbow Falls.
Thanks, Dorin, for sharing.
What a spectacular sight!
