We only got one world

Need to go to the store — to pick up some bananas for my feathered-kids
I start the car, turn the radio on.
Searching through stations — I stopped to one playing a song I’ve never heard before.

“…people got me questionin’
Where is the love…”

When I get back home, one of my friends drops by for a visit.
And (of course) I’m sharing the new song I just heard.

Me: You should hear the words

It’s like they were written yesterday

“Wrong information… shown by the media
Negative images… infecting the young minds faster than bacteria.”

Friend: It’s new to you because you only got into music recently.
This song was written almost 20 years ago
My favorite part of the song:

“Whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?
Instead of spreading love we’re spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity.”

Me: It may have been written years ago but…

Friend: Yes, the words do describe our times

The song ends with

“Where is the love?
We only got one world

That’s all we got — one world.”

Sharing this site with your friends is much appreciated.
Thanks for visiting.
