Why we prefer blondes

“If you crave a leadership position, such as elected office, you should dye your hair blonde if it isn’t that color already.”
The above excerpt is from an Inc. article written by Minda Zetlin.
She mentions a study done by University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business.

The results of the study clearly show we prefer blondes.

This may explain why we have two blondes running for the highest office in the country!
(Sorry — couldn’t resist : )

But I digress.
Back to the study:  this preference for blond hair applies only to women.
Berdahl, one of the researchers, tries to explain why we prefer blondes (in a leadership role):
“If the package is feminine, disarming, and childlike, you can get away with more assertive, independent, and masculine behavior.”

Personally, I’m not sold on this study.
However, one does well to cover all bases.
If you need me, I’ll be at the hair salon ; )
